IRRIS stands for…
IRRIS is a name inspired by the Greek goddess Iris, described as the messenger of the goddess Hera who shines by illuminating her Inner Soul by the label in press releases. Iris is also known as the goddess of rainbows, the Sky, and the Sea. IRRIS’ journey is tied heavily to the journey of the goddess Iris to illuminate her Inner Soul.
IRRIS is also marketed as the “prismatic” girl group to highlight that all four members have different colors and attempt to shine a new light on the kpop music scene.
Here’s the main information you need to know about each member. Their prism stones symbolize each member’s personality and so far, not much meaning is known behind their Tarot Cards .
There are two universes IRRIS exists within: the Fantasy World and the Real World (hinted at by the second acronym in their name). Both of these places are visited during their music video and will possibly be further expanded upon in the future. There is potentially a third unnamed New World where these two universes are combined and accessed once all IRRIS members realize that they can be all colors. IRRIS’ main goal is to create and reach this third plane of existence.
So far, it seems that IRRIS have yet to reach their goal of shining their inner souls. For one, the STAY WITH ME MV shows the girls on a journey to shine their inner souls. The trip that they’re taking in similar to the one the goddess Iris takes from the sky to the sea, using the rainbow, to deliver messages to the gods and morals. Perhaps IRRIS takes this trip to the sea in order to mimic the path of a rainbow from the sky to the sea and shine their inner souls. Additionally, we’ve yet to see their two halves meet, another essential step to shining their inner souls.
